German coatings additives since 1977. Matting agents, micronized waxes, slip and surface additives, conductivity agents, texturing agents, and UV initiators.
Deuteron GmbH develops and manufactures specialty additives for the paint, ink, and coatings industries from its plant in Achim, Germany, and has done so since 1977. The range covers organic polymethylurea matting agents, micronized waxes, slip and surface additives sold as fluorine-free replacements for PTFE, conductivity and anti-static agents, xanthan thickeners, and UV initiators.
P.A.T. Products supplies the Deuteron range across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with the high-velocity grades held in North American stock for fast domestic delivery. Samples ship from stock and technical data sheets are sent on request for every grade.
Each product page below carries the typical properties from Deuteron's own technical data sheet, the applications the grade is made for, and the dosage range. Tell us the binder system and the property you are targeting and we will confirm the grade.
Quaternary ammonium antistatic, tetraalkylammonium ethyl sulphate. Carrier-free liquid antistatic additive for coatings, PU and PVC. Sets surface and volume resistivity between 100 kilohm and 1 gigaohm without bringing a solvent into the system.
View product →Quaternary ammonium salt on a silica carrier. Powdered antistatic additive for powder coatings, plastics and extrusion. A quaternary ammonium active absorbed onto silica, so it goes where a liquid additive cannot.
View product →Quaternary ammonium antistatic in 1-butanol, 50 percent active. Antistatic additive for electrostatic spray paints, supplied at 50 percent active in butanol. Low viscosity, easy to dose, and the lighter GHS label of the two butanol grades.
View product →Micronized polymethylurea (PMU), organic duromeric. Organic PMU matting agent with a 6.3 micron median particle size. The coarsest of the three MK grades, for thicker films where matting efficiency matters more than fineness.
View product →Micronized polymethylurea (PMU), organic duromeric. Organic PMU matting agent with a 4.6 micron median particle size. The middle of the three MK grades, for films too thin to carry the coarse grade cleanly.
View product →Micronized polymethylurea (PMU), organic duromeric. Organic PMU matting agent with a 3.5 micron median particle size. The finest of the three MK grades, for thin films and the smoothest surface feel.
View product →PMU particle dispersion in DPGDA. Sub-micron PMU matting dispersion in DPGDA for thin layer UV curable coatings and inks. 17 percent active, supplied without a wetting agent so the formulator picks their own.
View product →PMU particle dispersion in DPGDA, with wetting agent. Sub-micron PMU matting dispersion in DPGDA for thin layer UV curable coatings and inks. 25 percent active, low viscosity at 220 mPas, and supplied with a wetting agent.
View product →Polymethylurea (PMU) compounded with PTFE. Matting agent that also carries slip. PMU particles compounded with PTFE, for abrasion resistant low gloss systems that need scratch, scoring and polishing resistance.
View product →Micronized polymethylurea (PMU), organic duromeric. PMU matting agent built for low viscosity impact. Less matting efficiency than the MK family, and significantly less effect on viscosity and film flexibility.
View product →Micronized polymethylurea (PMU), halogen free. Halogen-free surface additive with PTFE-like properties, at a 7.0 micron median particle size. Deuteron states it can be used as a 1:1 offset for PTFE-based additives and waxes.
View product →Micronized polymethylurea (PMU), halogen free. Halogen-free surface additive with PTFE-like properties, at a 4.0 micron median particle size. The finer of the two SF grades, for thin films and the smoothest surface.
View product →Iodonium salt photoinitiator for cationic polymerisation, 50 percent in propylene carbonate. Cationic UV photoinitiator for epoxy and vinyl ether resins. Cures oxirane and oxetane systems under a mercury lamp with low shrinkage, no benzene emission and only slight odour.
View product →Xanthan gum thickener, glyoxal surface modified. Glyoxal-modified xanthan thickener with delayed hydration. Added under gentle stirring at pH 5 to 7 and fully dispersed about five minutes after the pH is adjusted.
View product →Granulated xanthan gum thickener. Granulated xanthan gum thickener for waterborne coatings, inks and pigment concentrates. Added dust free, dissolves without lumps, and needs no high shear disperser.
View product →Granulated xanthan gum thickener, transparent. Granulated xanthan gum thickener for waterborne coatings and inks. Dust free, dissolves without lumps under moderate stirring, and gives the transparent finish VT 920 does not.
View product →Micronized oxidized polyethylene wax dispersed in water, 46 percent active. Oxidized polyethylene wax dispersed in water, made without additives. High hardness and a 128 °C melting point for anti-blocking and abrasion resistance, with little effect on slip.
View product →Micronized polyethylene wax dispersed in water, 50 percent active. Polyethylene wax pre-dispersed in water at 50 percent active, made without dispersing additives, emulsifiers or defoamers. A pourable liquid that meters through an automatic dosing unit.
View product →Micronized amide wax. Micronized amide wax for velvet surface feel, sanding properties, and long-lasting wood grain enhancement, in solventborne, waterborne, UV curable, and powder systems.
View product →Micronized polyethylene wax. Micronized polyethylene wax for abrasion and scratch resistance, rub resistance in inks, matting, and a lower coefficient of friction. The economic first choice among wax additives.
View product →Micronized modified polypropylene wax. Micronized polypropylene wax with a 138 °C melting point. Matting with a smooth feel, polishing resistance, and it holds silica and other heavy fillers against settling.
View product →Micronized PTFE-modified polyethylene wax. PTFE-modified polyethylene wax for surface protection and friction reduction. The PTFE and PE combination works better together than either does alone, and it disperses more easily than PTFE on its own.
View product →Xanthan gum thickener. Xanthan gum thickener in powder form for waterborne coatings, inks and pigment concentrates. The straight xanthan grade, for plants with high shear dispersing.
