Deuteron GmbH, based in Germany, has been developing specialty additives for the paint, ink, and coatings industries since 1977. Their product range covers organic polymethylurea (PMU) matting agents, micronized waxes, slip and surface additives marketed as PFAS-free replacements for PTFE, conductivity and anti-static agents, xanthan thickeners, and UV initiators.
They work directly with formulators to match additives to specific binder systems, processing conditions, and performance targets. Their products serve automotive OEM, architectural coatings, protective coatings, printing inks, and industrial surface finishing markets globally.
PAT supplies the full Deuteron range across the US, Canada, and Mexico. Our most active product is Deuteron MK, a widely specified matting agent for solventborne and waterborne coatings. PAT stocks Deuteron MK, MK-F, MK-F6 and the MM 677 water dispersion for domestic delivery, with the finer grades, the UV dispersions and the compounds supplied to order.
The matting range is organic polymethylurea in five particle sizes from 2.5 to 6.3 microns. It takes a slightly higher dose than silica for the same gloss and gives lower viscosity, polish resistance and a soft feel in return.
