Germany · Natural Gums & Hydrocolloids
Hamburg-based specialists in natural gums, sourcing directly from countries of origin, with their own SprayCom spray-drying facility producing 4,000 tonnes per year of gum arabic powder.
Willy Benecke has been trading natural raw materials from Hamburg since the 1950s, a family business now in its second generation under brothers Thorsten and Soeren Hauser. Their focus is natural gums, resins, and hydrocolloids, tested and refined at their Hamburg facility before distribution worldwide.
The company buys directly at origin rather than through intermediaries, and their buyers select material at the source. Quality control starts before the gum ever reaches Hamburg.
Their SprayCom subsidiary, based near Hamburg, was established specifically to address rising demand for processed gum arabic. SprayCom operates spray-drying equipment with 4,000-tonne annual capacity and an on-site laboratory for continuous quality control and product optimization, enabling custom specifications for flow characteristics, viscosity, and solution properties.
Gum acacia (also called gum arabic) is the dried exudate of Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal trees. The raw gum is cleaned, dissolved, filtered, and spray-dried into finished powder at Willy Benecke's facilities in Germany, which is why PAT's gum acacia carries Germany as its country of origin.
What food and beverage manufacturers need is consistency: particle size, moisture content, viscosity, and microbiological profile held lot after lot. German processing and an on-site laboratory deliver that, along with the documentation regulated food applications require.
PAT holds inventory in North America and services gum acacia customers through PAT Ingredients, our food and beverage division. Grades, specifications, and samples are at patingredients.com.
