Deuteron MK-F6 is a micronized duromeric plastic powder based on polymethylurea. The synthesis produces highly amorphous particles with a comparatively high BET surface area, which is what makes the chemistry work as a matting agent.
As an organic polymer it holds a balance between matting performance, viscosity and mechanical stability that inorganic matting agents do not. It has a low influence on viscosity at the loadings needed to hit a gloss target.
MK-F6 is the finest of the three, with a median particle size of 3.5 microns and a dv90 of 6.5 microns. Oil absorption is 251 g per 100 g, the lowest of the three, so it takes more of it to reach the same gloss reduction. What it buys is a surface that stays smooth in thin films and printing inks where a coarse particle would be visible or felt.
It is insoluble in the solvents commonly used in coatings, temperature resistant beyond 200 °C and briefly beyond 300 °C, and biodegradable.

PMU chemistry is highly compatible across a wide range of systems, so Deuteron MK-F6 can be incorporated with a high-speed stirrer without specific wetting agents or dispersing aids.
It is shear stable in high shear processes. Do not grind it in a bead mill: the particle size distribution is the product, and milling destroys it.

By film thickness and how fine a surface you need. MK is the coarsest at 6.3 microns dv50 and 13.8 dv90, with the highest oil absorption at 325, so it mattes hardest per unit added. MK-F sits at 4.6 and 10.6 microns, MK-F6 at 3.5 and 6.5. Thin films need the finer grades or the coarse particles read as texture.

No. It is shear stable in high shear mixing, but a bead mill will grind the particle size distribution away, and that distribution is what produces the matting. A high-speed stirrer is all it needs.
No. Polymethylurea is an organic urea-based thermoset with no fluorine in it, which is why the chemistry is used as a route away from PTFE micronized waxes in coatings.
