The flexural modulus is 320000 psi and tear strength is 230 N/mm, with a 50 percent tensile modulus of 9000 psi. Elongation at break is 130 percent, so this material is used as a rigid structural plastic rather than as an elastomer. Abrasion loss is 150 cubic mm by DIN 53516, well above the elastomeric grades, which is the trade for the stiffness.

Dry before processing at 175 to 195 degrees F for 3 hours, preferably in a dehumidifying drier fed by air with a dew point below minus 22 degrees F. Skipping the drying step is the most common cause of splay and bubbles in a TPU part.
COIM's suggested moulding profile runs zone 1 at 430 degrees F, zone 2 at 440, zone 3 at 445 and the nozzle at 400. Machine, screw and downstream equipment all move these, so treat them as a starting point. The nozzle runs well below the barrel on this grade, which is unusual and is what COIM's sheet specifies.

150 cubic mm by DIN 53516, against 30 to 50 for the elastomeric grades. Hard TPU does not have the rubbery recovery that gives a soft TPU its abrasion performance. If wear is the duty, a Shore A grade will outlast this one.
