Laripur 7025 is a polyester based TPU at Shore 70 A, the softest polyester grade in this catalog. COIM designed the standard version for injection moulding of technical items and tool overmoulding, and the 7025EG version for hose, profile and film extrusion and for compounding with other thermoplastics.
Elongation at break is 670 percent against a 100 percent modulus of 500 psi, which is what a soft-touch overmoulded grip needs. Tensile strength is 6200 psi and abrasion loss is 30 cubic mm by DIN 53516.
The VICAT softening point is 140 degrees F, the lowest of the polyester grades here. Keep that in mind for any part that sees sustained heat.
Order the EG version when the material is going into a die. COIM identifies its extrusion versions with an end code after the grade number, and that code has to be on the purchase order.

Dry before processing at 175 to 195 degrees F for 3 hours, preferably in a dehumidifying drier fed by air with a dew point below minus 22 degrees F. Skipping the drying step is the most common cause of splay and bubbles in a TPU part.
COIM's suggested moulding profile runs zone 1 at 355 degrees F, zone 2 at 365, zone 3 at 375 and the nozzle at 365. The suggested extrusion profile runs zone 1 at 350, zone 2 at 355, zone 3 at 365, zone 4 at 375, adapter 365 and die 350. Machine, screw and downstream equipment all move these, so treat them as a starting point.

Storage: Six months from the date of delivery, in the original sealed packaging, in a dry well ventilated place out of direct sun.

That is one of COIM's stated uses. At Shore 70 A with a 100 percent modulus of 500 psi it is soft enough for a grip. Adhesion depends on the substrate, so run a trial: tell us the substrate resin and we will send material for it.

COIM publishes 140 degrees F VICAT for this grade, the lowest of the polyester grades in this catalog. Soft TPU has less hard segment holding it together. If the part sees sustained heat, a harder grade in the same chemistry will hold shape better.
