We supply color for epoxy systems in production today, across industrial epoxy coatings, epoxy flooring, and epoxy sealants. Several accounts, running commercially, with no reported performance issues.
Industrial epoxy coatings. Color supplied to epoxy system suppliers and formulators who pigment their own coatings, including saturated shades that are hard to hold batch to batch.
Epoxy flooring. Poured, broadcast, and roller-applied floors, where the shade has to hold across a job and between pails.
Epoxy sealants and caulks. The same dispersions color epoxy sealant and caulk formulations, where the color is added at the compounding step rather than on site.
Our epoxy color runs on a phthalate-free terephthalate plasticizer carrier, the same one that carries our cast polyurethane and plastisol dispersions. That is one carrier across three systems, so a shop running more than one of them holds one color target and one supplier.
An ester plasticizer carries no epoxide and no amine hydrogen, so it takes no part in the amine-epoxy cure. It behaves as a non-reactive diluent: it thins the mix during blending and then stays where it is. Epoxy is not an isocyanate system, so the hydroxyl and index arithmetic that governs a polyol carrier in polyurethane does not apply at all, which makes carrier selection one question shorter here than it is in cast PU. Our standard dispersions carry an epoxy suitability rating across the line.
The reasoning behind every carrier we offer is set out in choosing the carrier for a polyurethane pigment dispersion, and the epoxy-specific version, including addition rates and which component takes the color, is in coloring epoxy systems.
A non-reactive diluent lowers glass transition temperature and can cut solvent and acid resistance if enough of it is present. At the level a colorant introduces, a few percent of the total formulation at most, that is minor. For immersion service the usual approach is to carry the color through the intermediate coats and finish with a clear high-Tg topcoat.
Tell us what the film has to survive along with the shade. A floor in a dry warehouse and a floor in a plating room are the same colorant question with different answers about where the color belongs in the build.

It also settles the questions a datasheet cannot answer for a specific job, including which component takes the color in your system and what loading gets you to the shade.
We match to PANTONE, RAL Classic, Federal Standard 595, a hex value, or a physical sample, and we reverse-match a color you already buy from another supplier so you can move a shade without re-specifying it. Our liquid color is made in the United States and is Berry Amendment, REACH, RoHS, and California Proposition 65 compliant. Technical and Safety Data Sheets ship with every color, and a certificate goes out with every batch carrying the color measurement and the viscosity conditions it was measured under.
Color tolerance is specified at CIELAB delta E of 1.0 or better against the approved standard, measured under D65 illuminant and a 10 degree observer, and we have never issued a certificate that missed it. Tell us what your qualification process requires and we will pull the documents.

That depends on the system, and the resin supplier is the one who knows. The two components are not interchangeable for this purpose: the hardener is the amine-bearing reactive side and is usually the smaller volume, so the same addition perturbs it more than it perturbs the resin side. Ask your resin supplier where color belongs in their system, tell us the answer, and we will confirm the shade in that component before you commit to anything.
