PROFLEX PLASTICIZERS are primarily derived from sulfonamide chemistry. These are high-quality resin modifiers which exceptional performance and product quality.
Traditional applications for the ProFlex line include fluorescent pigments, melamine-formaldehyde resins, nail lacquers, and printing inks:
ProFlex 8 – n-ethyl o/p Toluenesulfonamide
ProFlex 8 is a plasticizer and adhesion promoter with high thermal stability.
The product is highly polar and it readily plasticizes the more difficult resins, such as nylon and other polyamides, shellac, cellulose acetate, zein, and other protein materials.
ProFlex 9S – o/p Toluenesulfonamide (40/60)
ProFlex 9S is successfully used as a plasticizer for melamine and various other resins.
It improves the stability, flexibility and the flow properties of these resins. 9S can also be used in low-pressure melamine formaldehyde laminates, urea formaldehyde resins and as a reactive plasticizer in epoxy, polyurethane, and melamine based resins. Systems reacted with 9S show improved resistance to oils, solvents, and moisture. It coatings it imparts fungicidal activity.
ProFlex 4 – n-Butyl Benzenesulfonamide
ProFlex 4 is a plasticizer for a number of resins such as polyacetals, polycarbonates, polysulfones and polyamides.
ProFlex 4 provides for better low temperature flexibility, better finish, good heat stability to 80 C, better shape stability due to reduced water absorption, and easier removal from molds.
ProFlex MH – Toluenesulfonamide-Formaldehyde Co-Polymer
ProFlex MH is a condensation product of formaldehyde and toluene sulfonamides. It is a thermoplastic resin.
The product improves properties of coatings made of various resins. Exceptionally light color, good light stability and low viscosity in solution are among the interesting properties of this resin.
ProFlex MS80 – Toluenesulfonamide-Formaldehyde Co-Polymer Dissolved in 20% n-butyl acetate
ProFlex MS80 is a condensation product of formaldehyde and toluene sulfonamides, dissolved in n-butyl acetate.
The product improves properties like gloss, flexibility, adhesion, water vapor permeability and solvent resistance of coatings made of various resins. Exceptionally light color, good light stability and low viscosity in solution are among the interesting properties of this resin.
